We had the great pleasure of visiting Schmidt Kommunalfahrzeuge GmbH in Groß-Rohrheim (Germany) – a European leader in the supply of municipal vehicles for the public and private sectors.
Thanks to the exceptional hospitality of Mr Jens Skowronnek, CEO, we were able to see the production process of municipal vehicles from the inside and learn about the innovative solutions used in this modern factory.
The visit from our side was made up of key representatives of the REKORD Group (in the first photo, from left):

During the visit, we toured:
– The production plant – a modern factory on a site of 48,000 m²
– Spare parts warehouses – ensuring fast service support
– Service areas – observing live repairs and vehicle tests
– A fleet of vehicles for hire – approximately 300 machines available to customers
– The process of machine handover and return in practice
Even the unfavourable weather did not stop us from admiring the vehicles in action outside.
Who is Schmidt Kommunalfahrzeuge?
The company from Groß-Rohrheim has been specialising in municipal vehicles for the waste industry for over 50 years, offering: hook loaders and skip loaders, front and rear loaders (refuse collection vehicles), sweepers, suction-washing vehicles, winter road maintenance equipment and liquid waste transport vehicles. The company has four locations in Germany and a fleet of around 300 vehicles for hire.
The meeting included presentations, discussions, exchange of experiences and many inspiring conversations about the future of the municipal sector. It was an extremely valuable and successful trip, which confirmed our belief that joint projects with Schmidt Kommunalfahrzeuge have enormous potential.
